The Nursery

Little McKartney will be here in 10 short weeks.  However, the nursery dreaming began as soon as we saw girl on the ultrasound.  My husband, the in-laws and I have been searching, planning, and making sure every little detail is just right for our sweet girl.  I knew I wanted pink and from there the room has blossomed into something bigger then I could have dreamed.

The crib was the starting point.  It is the crib of my dreams.  I wanted it to be the first thing you see when you walk into the room.  The bedding is from Land of Nod.  I love the girly, bright floral design of the bumber and the simplicity of the skirt.  After I purshased the bedding the walls were painted Azeala Flower by Sherwin Williams.  I wanted the walls to be bold and bold is what I got.  I was worried at first that it might be too dark, but white furniture quickly lightented up the room.

The pomanders or "kissing balls" were created by taking fabric and cutting it into 4 inch squares and pomping the fabric into styrofoam balls using a crochet needle.  I used a shiny satin-type fabric.

My curtains were a bargain Ross find.  I needed to dress them up a little so I simply just threaded some beads on ribbon and hot-glued it around the curtain rods.  It added the perfect amount of sparkle.

The hot pink lamp was a must-have.  The flower on the side is made out of a mens' tie.  It was given to me as a gift at my bridal shower.

I am not finished making this room just right for my princess.  I just want to share what I have going on so far.  The husband and I are working on a few projects that I cannot wait to share!  Enjoy!
